Tax Manager - Audit and Assurance

 

About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements, provide strategic tax advisory services, and oversee a diverse client portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with Directors and Partners to drive business growth, mentor the tax team, and ensure the highest standards of technical excellence and client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and compliance with Qatar tax regulations.

  • Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to optimize clients' tax positions while minimizing tax risks.

  • Review and oversee the preparation and filing of corporate income tax, withholding tax (WHT), capital gains tax, and other statutory tax returns.

  • Conduct technical tax research and provide practical solutions on complex tax matters and legislative developments.

  • Manage tax audits, objections, appeals, and correspondence with the General Tax Authority (GTA).

  • Advise clients on international taxation, transfer pricing (TP), cross-border transactions, foreign tax credits, and tax treaty matters.

  • Support clients with tax provisions, financial reporting, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic transactions.

  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional advisory services.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team through coaching, technical guidance, and performance management.

  • Participate in annual tax planning meetings with Directors and Partners to support business strategy, client development, and resource planning.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent tax qualification.

  • Minimum 6-10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within a Big Four or leading international professional services firm.

  • Strong technical knowledge of direct and indirect taxation.

  • Extensive experience in international taxation, transfer pricing (TP), and BEPS.

  • Demonstrated experience managing tax compliance and advisory engagements.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory.

  • Strong academic record.
